Mr. Cohen

I’m pleased to say that I may be crossing an item off my “to do before I die” list. Today I took advantage of AmEx’s Front of the Line dealie to get some nice seats to see Mr. Leonard Cohen. After almost a decade of pining, I am finally going to see Cohen. A. & [...]

If I Can Dream (meme) aka, move on, nothing to see here…

Took this meme from Please Pick-Up Your Socks. Added my own answers, obviously. I’ll put it under a cut to spare you the trouble… Like Unlike

Saturday Blogging…

I feel like I’ve been in a blogging lull. My camera is being a complete pain in the ass, and I’d buy a new one, but I’m a bit skint right now due to the whole waiting – for – security – clearance – to – start – my – job thing. Eventually I’ll just [...]

Do you have The Feverâ„¢ ?

A few people asked me if I’m going down to Parliament Hill to try to see Obama. I guess that’s the trouble with living in a place where notable events actually happen, as opposed to say, Minden, where the most exciting thing to ever happen was Mike Myers’ visit to the local IGA. People expect [...]

Bent fish and well wishes

On Monday I went out with P for lunch. P, if you remember, has been fighting leukemia for the past 3 months. She’s had some setbacks, but she will be getting a bone marrow transplant shortly! I’m so happy she found a donor. She’s back in the hospital again today, to prep for the transplant. [...]

2 Months later…

Yesterday, A and I finally took the OCTranspo somewhere. We took it all over the place, in fact. From the West to Downtown, and then down Bank street, and back. We took at least 4 buses, and everything was pretty decent. No one yelling, spitting, kicking, bludgeoning, shooting, crucifying, or otherwise abusing the drivers. It [...]

Happy Birthday Scarlet

Today is my doggie’s birthday! She’s 12. We’ve always celebrated dog birthdays in my family. Not with a cake, but we keep track of this stuff and probably give them some extra treats. Now that our dogs are getting old, it seems even more important to celebrate their existence. Our animals have always been members [...]

SUCCESS!

I GOT A JOB! IN AN AREA I WANTED! WITH THE FEDS! Less than a month after defending my thesis! In this economy! I can’t believe it! I’ll probably start in early March, after all my clearances go through. I’m so excited and so relieved at the same time. Holy Crap. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Like Unlike
