My term got extended at work! I am working at a job I love for at least another 6 months. I signed the papers on Friday.
I was so pessimistic about getting extended, not because of my own performance or anything like that, but because of the current economic situation at work and how often I hear that they have no money. I guess that’s pretty standard with government jobs, at least until you become “permanent”. There are other reasons, but I don’t feel like airing dirty federal policing laundry on my blog, nor would they appreciate it either.
But yeah, I’m happy. It’s like being hired all over again.

Congratulations on the renewal! My personal theory about employment in hard times is that there is always room for good people… clearly, your agency recognizes this.
